Cultural safety

First week  of the  last year of Primary School ..  not  sure I should be  worried  .. or really worried.
so thought  I should put pen to paper  before it gets to hard to start from the  start .  ( hey that makes sense to me ! )

Ok   first would like to acknowledge  that Yes   I do not  live  on  my ancestors land  I live on  Wurundjeri Land  so  my respects go to them  who walked  before and whos mobs walk strong today . 

In saying this  let my words speak  for  me  and  my perceptions  and in no way  imply that I speak for anyone else other than myself and  my two feet and hands .

Not sure  how I should say this but here goes.

I  have speaking mandarin  low  on  priorities  of my child's  education . yes 690 odd million people speaking this language  surely speaks cultural identity to me  .   but  yes I have concerns  of  this country  forcing yet another language  on the  children of this country .  last time they did that  the  government  forced children  and adults to speak english only  as a result   -  well your ability to speak any of the  over 400 dialects Australia  had once  should be testimony to the point I am making . and  yes not even  going to mention much of the dance and songs  and  lore that was also lost when a  new language was forced into an education module and society.

If  what they  say is true .  And  who  you are and  where you come from  is part of  a person's  safety and ability to  partake in the greater wider  society that adulthood  forces on  our youth .  My  child  should be enabled  by her school   to  study and learn  a language that  her ancestors ,   her  blood  once spoke .
I  shall not  have another child by birth so  that makes my child the last of the last of a long line ( some say 60, 000 -  I dare say it much longer ) of people.

As  Far as I am aware  only  a  handful of people in compared to  Mandarins  staggering  results  even  know  the Taungurung people  exsisted and  still do  - let alone  know  a  whole language exists as well. 

sad for me to acknowledge that   because  it  is my ancestors . a  big  line and  a very old line .    so much  was taken  by the  Commonwealth  .  so much  from people  but  more important   for  it vital to everyone .   the Commonwealth stole  from the future .

Time  being the once currency the government  has not been made accountable for  and yes still  steals  and takes  time  from  not only the past ,  the  present   but well into the future .    If  only more people  would see the dangers  of  what we doing to the future .  (  as things stands   we  dont have much future )

I  stray  from track ..  as  my path  that was once spoken   now  has a  freeway  and a mcdonalds on  it.  but  dont pity  this    for  you share the same path as me ..  I just know  and  want it to be like it was .  Greed  for the  future  and  not the speed I travel  on with which waste of  cash on wheels  that cost so much to fuel .  this path  is what concerns me .

Environment sustainability , holisitic even ( holistic  by definition and  not by stereotyping that is ! )  - health , safety , education , farming , justice .   any  of   this and  much more  how  can it  properly be delivered without  the   initial and most important  -  cultural safety .  ???

what is  cultural  safety  to you ?   is  it knowing who  your mum  and dad is ?   is  it having a pie  n a beer at the footy ?   is  it  going to church every sunday ? I can not answer that for you  and yours  but I do urge you to ponder this thought .   What is cultural  safety to you ?


Let  me try to explain what it is for me .  for me  it is about to live within the skin i live in . to live  with  brown  hair and green / grey eyes  and not have  to  explain time and time again  I am  what is left  after 60 , 000  +  years .    My  bloodline  can  be tied back  thousands  of years to this land .  this land   Australia.

I want the ability to walk and sleep under the stars .  I want the ability to  eat  what is now rare plants . I want to be able to share  stories  long ago  about stars and animals .

I want to  practise the long ago lore that  us  men and women  once made to animals   of all kinds .  for  trust me on my word .  the animals  have not forgotten the lores and  bonds  we once had with them .  pity  us as people for not keeping  the one thing that  made as  apart from the animals.  Our  abilty to endlessly love .

I claim no higher  need  nor greater than anyone else .  I just can acknowledge what this land needs  I can acknowledge what I need  and  I  want to help fix  the damage  . as least leave this planet   saying to the  future  I tried to stand  against  what I know  to be wrong  by land  and  by people s  and yes  I think people have souls .

keeping what left  of my old peoples   is beyond important .  ability to access such ancient languages and may be just key  in  parts  to a greater picture of human life than we could  not even begin to comprehend yet . the pyramids are a mere 4, 500 years old .. I am talking of a  peoples 60 , 000 +  older !!  think about it !! 

so  if you take anything from  my perception today  note  that  i really  want to forsake  my child learning  such a common language as Mandarin . and really want with  all my heart to know  of the language  her ancestors  once spoke , told stories,  sang  songs ..  

May this education system in  Victoria  Assist me  in enabling my child  to learn how to use   vital  cultural research and practices in a way that  empower  her with a sense of cultural identity which is  fundamental  in true and  essential  education  and workplace relations.

Hey   would be great if the gov  was held accountable for any of its actions right ?? 

Sighs   I know I know .  but  giving up your rights .. and having them taken away are two very very different things !! 


once upon a time not too long ago  there was a child who slipped through the system,....

'mum just doing it  tough...

'mum not working so not much money in the home....

'mum works full time and  the child  is baby sat  by  family friend ...

mum has two jobs  and child  walks  long distances  each day to get to school....

mum  busy at work  so clean clothes  were probably  not found by child...

nutrition levels  are at expected  levels  for single parent families ..

unable to contact parent due to work shifts...

how many risk factors  were considered  when such a ruling to cut payments by up to $70 a week was made ?  

what happened to the rights of a child ?
when  did my child  lose  her  rights to matter ?

she can not work until she is 15  ..    so we have a age gap between  the ages  of  6  - 16  where the  government does not care ?

i  read enough on stats  and  especially   gov approved  stats ..  risk  factors  and self harm   happens to the children who fall in this  age !   can  anyone else  see the risk that is being taken  and forced into the homes  of  single parent families . ??

latch  key kids ..  a  whole new generation ..   sounds like   the stats  for abused australian kids are about to go through the roof!!
  
what happened to closing the gap ? ?

why did the government make such a choice  to take from families  yet  not  to be held  accountable  for the secondary issuses  :- and  obiviously increased  risk factors ??

what of the child  who is forced to steal  prior  to  jan 1  2013 ?
what of the child  who was forced to mule drugs ?

what of the child who was already slipping through the cracks of the system ? 

I was raised to believe my home was the  lucky country !! .  home to the  oldest human race as well as   the worlds largest  flora and fauna population  (  yes people   Aboriginals  are no  longer considered flora and fauna )  -

Australians  are world known for  our big hearts  and   our caring nature ..(  it the aussie  way mate ! ) 

I wish the government  and  certain  welfare ministers  remembered that.!!

Jenny Macklin   you terrible  excuse for a woman !!  I  hope one day you do not need to stay in an aged care home .   for the chances  are very high the  one that will be handfeeding your  food ( that you  can only gumm  down ) - will belong  a single parent  home . 

I am not a big  fan  of copying  what I see in movies    but Jenny Macklin   if you end up in a old home  I hope the chief from one flew over the cuckoos nest aint going to be slow to  get pillow  happy on your face !

Jenny  Macklin   the Government  of Australia  may not hold you accountable for your levels  of child neglect  .. but a nation of children will not forget you! I hope you didnt like politics all too much .  an  obivious  disregard for young human life will not be taken lightly ..  by the people  nor the future !  
I am just one of many people  who are angry  at the level  of neglect  a  parliment action has forced on a nation of children  .. ask yourself ..  If  someone  like me angry enough  to  put  words from actions ..  ask yourself the million  dollar question . .

 what of the person  who willing to make action happen from words ?? Jenny are you scared ?  you should be this not a threat . call me psychic ..   go to any housing commission area   and see if they talk as nice as I am now .. 
  





Dear government  it is not to late to change and start caring about  our countries future !  
want to do something for the australian welfare system ?? ms  macklin ..   try getting the  training and education levels  up to scratch ! ..  make job centers more accountable and able to assist in people  getting not only suitable  employment   but long standing as well ! 

Wish  Julia  Gillards  dad  did die  of shame!!   ..   would mean so many  australians  did not die in vain  trying to defend our rights as australian  people .!!  yes  shocking to know  but my child  deserves the same rights as you regardless if  I am with her father or not !  

LEST WE FORGET !!  was your father a  war  hero  Ms Macklin ??  did  daddy die  for the Rights of Australians  ? 

Jenny Macklin  your days have been counted !! .. just remember  the sun  shines  on even a dogs butt hole  once !! enjoy  your time in the sun .!! 

You should of picked anyone to pick on  but the single  parent  homes ..   you put children at risk  ..
 I pray they dont make you pay like you made them  pay . 
GOD HELP WHAT COMING YOUR WAY WOMAN !! 

Lets hope no  child  dies because of this ..    using children as a weapon  !! FFS  what sort of woman  uses a nation  of children  to save a dollar ..    this is not the way to head towards a better nationwide child  education standard.

Okies ,not really sure what actually  got me angry  enough to blog  all on my own without the help  of  farcebook   Or  twatterville  ..    but  I know I have a list of stuff that  makes me so angry  at the "evolved"  human race .

So  why  blog  about it   right ?  everyone  knows the world  of Australia  ends   at  Summer  Bay ..   and  all  women  of the world aspire to be  on  Dr Phils show .   YOU  GOT TO BE A HERO  EVERYONE NEEDS A HERO !    MEH  !!  seriously   ..

In  actual   fact now that I think about it  I have  heaps to say !!! .. and  want to hurry  up and say it before it becomes illegal  to  say   . (   thanks  Australian  Government   way to show the world you  still  living  with the boat mentality !! )   GRRR  YOU  GILLARD >>   MY HUMAN  RIGHTS   ARE CONNECTED  TO THE LAND !   HOW  CAN YOU    CONTINUE  TO RAPE THE LAND  AND DESTROY  THE  FOOD  THAT GROWS  NATURALLY  AND AT THE SAME TIME  PREACH ABOUT  MY  LEVELS  OF HEALTH >>   CLOSE THE GAP  GILLARD >>  START WITH YA OWN  GAP  AND  PUT   ACTIONS TO THE WORD  SORRY    BEFORE   THE LAND  REALLY DIES  AND  WHAT  HOPE  FUTURE HAS WITH IT !!

ARGGGH  The  question  I ask myself .. can what I call TEAM HUMAN .    be able to work around the government  and the super powers  of the greed and lust world  and  fix the world  before  we get too sick to fix ?   how much has already been stolen    taken from hearts  and  memories,  how much more can we afford to lose  in another 200 years??

What of  the land  that  my mob always lived on ?   what happens  to what left of the birds ,  the ferns, flowers,  all that stuff  that kept  us alive for hundreds  of years .. what happens ? 

who watches the  baby birds  ?   who finds the berries ? what berries ?   words  and songs ..  what will  be left in another  200 years ?

What can be done to stop so much hurt on the land ?   And   how  much can one  person  fix ?   and how long would  it take  for the world  to see how  much  has been stolen ?? and  who infact paying the real cost..  

 The  Government  admits  to Native Title ..  and  even sometimes   works  within the Act  itself ,  that admitted it  .. Flora  and fauna  Act. that  admits people connected to land .. did they forget the  animals  and plants  to ?how  much more  connection   do they want between man , land , god ? 

Why  did  Australia   get a seat on the U.N  security  panel when Australia is one of the world leaders in genocide and  racial discrimination ? 

When  will the Government  be  held  accountable  for  so many  atrocities ?  and who  will be the ones  to held them accountable ?

Why  is the word  terrorists associated  to people who would do anything to protect there home ?

to  rule  by terror  surely that  means with a wig and a gavel  ?  

Why  is the  justice system  considered   equal  . . yet  a  difference  between a  lawyer that costs nothing  and a lawyer  who costs  10 , 000    means the difference  between jail  and freedom ?   to buy  my rights to legal  representation ..  isnt that called  corruption ??  


I   Beg  and   will not  tire   of  asking people  who  judge to be accountable  for there own  actions .!! 
who judges the judges  ???  

And why not the public  eye  be  wide to the makings  and  actions  of people who judge  and rule ? 

What is the  real  Price of  Equal   Rights ? and what country is honest enough to admit  that rights are the real illusion ?
